Description:

The Network Security Engineer (The Firewall Guardian) position at our client in San Francisco, CA, involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructures to protect against cyber threats.
Responsibilities include configuring firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network access controls to ensure compliance with industry standards.
The role requires monitoring network traffic for suspicious activity, responding to security incidents, conducting vulnerability assessments, and enforcing security policies and compliance.
The Network Security Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining detailed documentation, providing reports on network security status, and collaborating with IT and security teams.

Requirements:

Network Security Expertise: Proficiency in network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security appliances.
Incident Response Skills: Experience in identifying, responding to, and mitigating network security incidents.
Firewall Configuration Mastery: Proven experience in configuring and optimizing firewalls like Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, or Check Point.
Vulnerability Management: Experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using tools like Nmap, Nessus, and Metasploit.
