Description:

  • The Network Security Engineer (The Firewall Guardian) position at our client in San Francisco, CA, involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructures to protect against cyber threats.
  • Responsibilities include configuring firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network access controls to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • The role requires monitoring network traffic for suspicious activity, responding to security incidents, conducting vulnerability assessments, and enforcing security policies and compliance.
  • The Network Security Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining detailed documentation, providing reports on network security status, and collaborating with IT and security teams.

Requirements:

  • Network Security Expertise: Proficiency in network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security appliances.
  • Incident Response Skills: Experience in identifying, responding to, and mitigating network security incidents.
  • Firewall Configuration Mastery: Proven experience in configuring and optimizing firewalls like Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, or Check Point.
  • Vulnerability Management: Experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using tools like Nmap, Nessus, and Metasploit.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to respond to evolving threats and work in fast-paced environments.
