Remote Network Services Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Network Administrator will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, monitoring, management, change management, software upgrades, problem/incident resolution, and root cause analysis for the IPv6 project initiative at GSA.
• The role involves migrating all GSA users VLANs to IPv6 only in Field Offices (FOs) and Regional Office Buildings (ROBs).
• The position includes overseeing switch provisioning and implementation across multiple sites, establishing network monitoring for new equipment, supporting Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) sites, managing LAN/WAN routing protocols, configuring switches and routers, utilizing network orchestration tools for automation, and monitoring network performance.
• Responsibilities also include generating/updating network documentation, producing knowledge base articles and SOPs, designing/implementing an automation framework, participating in technical meetings, reviewing code, and analyzing data patterns.
• The position requires effective communication skills, the ability to work independently in a remote environment, and expertise in IPV6 implementation and SD-WAN operations.

Requirements:

• Public Trust Clearance and ITILv4 Foundation Certification by start date.
• Previous experience implementing IPV6 and supporting SD-WAN sites.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with limited supervision.
• Strong communication skills both orally and in writing.
• Proficiency in configuring protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and Static routes.
• Familiarity with technologies like NetScaler, Cisco Catalyst Center, VMware (VeloCloud), Active Directory, Windows, ServiceNow, etc.
• Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA).
• 10-15 years of experience and a bachelor's degree.
