Description:
Visual Concepts is seeking an experienced Online Software Engineer to join their team and develop innovative features for the WWE 2K Series.
This position is fully remote and reports to the Lead Online Engineer.
The role involves full stack development, working on both game client and backend services.
Responsibilities include collaborating with multi-functional team members to deliver high-quality systems and features.
The engineer will dive into a large codebase to simplify processes, tackle challenges, and identify deficiencies.
Development and maintenance of game server code will focus on stability, performance, and scalability.
The engineer will perform load testing, build unit tests, and resolve issues to ensure optimal live services.
Producing clean, efficient, well-documented code that conforms to coding standards is essential.
Requirements:
A degree in Computer Science is required.
Candidates must have 2+ years of relevant game development experience.
Familiarity with Client/Server and Peer-to-Peer architectures is necessary.
Experience with 3rd Party APIs is required.
Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure is essential.
Proficiency in developing multiplayer video games is a must.
A solid understanding of multi-threading concepts is required.
Strong object-oriented programming background with proven experience in writing reliable, performant, and well-documented code is necessary.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, JavaScript, and SQL is required.
Candidates should be able to write clean, well-documented code.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and be self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills is essential.
Comfort in a fast-paced, hybrid environment is necessary.
Candidates should be willing to tackle a wide range of challenges, some with little advance notice.
Experience with PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and Steamworks is preferred.
Proficiency with online social game systems and games with live development is required.
Familiarity with cloud-based systems and knowledge of caching systems and mechanisms is necessary.
Understanding of the REST protocol and sockets is required.
A passion for video games is essential.
Benefits:
The pay range for this position in California is expected to be between $89,262 and $114,760 per year.
Base pay offered may vary based on market location and individualized factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package may include additional elements such as bonuses and/or equity awards.
