Description:

  • The OpenTofu Engineer & AWS Subject Matter Expert Contractor will focus on writing and maintaining the OpenTofu IaC code library within their area of expertise.
  • The role involves working part-time with flexible hours, handling tickets with a 1-3 day SLA.
  • Responsibilities include testing OpenTofu code, acting as a tech lead, and communicating with team members.
  • The position is paid hourly, with an average workload of 10-15 hours per week, up to 25 hours based on availability and skill level.
  • There is a potential path to full-time employment with Gruntwork for candidates in North America.

Requirements:

  • Deep expertise in writing Terraform/OpenTofu modules, with familiarity in Terragrunt being a plus.
  • Experience in testing infrastructure as code and a background in software engineering with 5+ years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge in a domain of AWS, such as networking, data storage, or security.
  • Strong communication skills in English and the ability to engage with external customers.
  • Willingness to work an average of ~15 hours per week and respond to support requests within a 1-2 business day SLA.
  • Strong preference for automating tasks and writing Golang and Bash is a nice-to-have.
