Description:
66degrees is a leading consulting and professional services company specializing in AI-focused, data-led solutions using cloud technology.
The Data Architect will assist customers in migrating to Google Cloud by designing and implementing migration strategies.
The role involves translating business and technical requirements into scalable and cost-effective database solutions.
Responsibilities include facilitating and guiding clients towards effective architectural patterns and acting as an interface between business and technology leadership.
The Data Architect will perform migration assessments and produce migration plans that cover Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), migration architecture, timelines, and application waves.
The role requires designing solution architecture on Google Cloud to support critical workloads and managing heterogeneous Oracle migrations to Postgres or Spanner.
The Data Architect will design migration paths that account for application dependencies, database objects, data, data pipelines, orchestration, and user security.
The position involves overseeing migration activities, providing troubleshooting support, translating DDL and DML, executing data transfers, and configuring Google Cloud components.
The Data Architect will engage with customer teams as a Google Cloud expert, providing education workshops, architectural recommendations, and technology reviews.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of Oracle database management and IT experience.
Experience with Oracle Database adjacent products like Golden Gate and Data Guard is required.
A minimum of 3+ years of PostgreSQL experience is necessary.
Candidates should have 5+ years of consulting experience.
Proven experience in performance testing and applying remediations for performance issues is essential.
Experience in designing data models is required.
Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write, tune, and interpret SQL queries, are necessary; tool-specific experience in the mentioned database platforms is ideal.
Proven experience in migrating or implementing cloud databases such as Cloud SQL, Spanner, and Bigtable is required.
Candidates should have at least 2+ years of cloud experience, preferably with Google Cloud.
Experience in defining technical architecture in cloud environments, particularly Google Cloud, is necessary.
Google Cloud Professional Architect and/or Data Engineer Certification is preferred.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
