Description:

  • Talentus is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team and support one of their US clients.
  • The role is full-time and remote, based in LATAM.
  • The DBA will design, configure, and maintain Oracle databases to meet business requirements.
  • Responsibilities include supporting database migrations between on-premises and cloud environments, particularly Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • The DBA will analyze data access patterns to identify and address hotspots and bottlenecks for optimal performance.
  • The role involves assisting developers with data model design and reviewing high-performing queries.
  • The DBA will define and implement best practices for Oracle database management, including configuration and performance monitoring.
  • Managing the storage capacity of database clusters and planning for future growth is also a key responsibility.
  • The DBA will provide diagnostic support and troubleshoot production issues to ensure reliability and performance.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have proficiency in Oracle with over 4 years of experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of core Oracle concepts and architecture is required.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is essential.
  • Expertise in GoldenGate, Exadata, and RAC technologies is necessary.
  • Competency in managing Linux/Unix server environments is required.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD principles, especially using Jenkins and GitLab, is important.
  • Understanding of AWS is preferred.
  • Candidates should have upper-intermediate (B2) or higher English proficiency for communication in a multinational environment.
  • Expertise in Oracle RMAN (Recovery Manager) or Data Guard for database backup, recovery, and replication is often crucial.
  • Experience with database security measures, such as encryption, user roles, and access control management, is important for sensitive data protection.
  • Proven experience in performance tuning at both the database and query level is emphasized.
  • Experience with managing database upgrades, patches, and ensuring version control without impacting production systems is required.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash, Perl, or Python) to automate routine DBA tasks is useful.
  • Experience in implementing and managing high-availability solutions, including Oracle RAC and Data Guard, to minimize downtime is necessary.
