Remote Oracle Database Consultant

Description:

• As an Oracle Database Consultant, you will be part of a team providing complete support for all aspects of managed database and application infrastructure operations to various customers.
• You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle databases.
• Your duties will include Oracle Administration, which encompasses experience with RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, Golden Gate, Exadata, Performance Tuning, WebLogic middleware, and various storage engines.
• You will design and implement various Oracle backup and recovery strategies.
• The role involves Oracle replication and slave setup, as well as coding scripts, procedures, and functions.
• You will develop methods for monitoring and utilize Linux/Unix and Shell scripting.
• Experience with RAC and direct interaction with external customers is required, along with project management responsibilities.
• You will coordinate, analyze, design, implement, and administer IT solutions.
• Recommending best practices for improvements to current operational processes will be part of your role.
• You will administer backup procedures and disaster recovery plans.
• Presenting technical courses to customers and participating in an on-call coverage rotation plan are also expected.
• You will communicate status and planning activities to customers and team members while collaborating with remote team members.
• Working conditions include participation in on-call rotation and periodic overtime, with the ability to perform primary job functions while standing or sitting for extended periods.
• The role requires dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computing equipment and the ability to concentrate for long hours under stress due to tight deadlines.

Requirements:

• An undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience is necessary.
