Description:
As an Oracle Database Consultant, you will be part of a team providing complete support for all aspects of managed database and application infrastructure operations to various customers.
You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle databases.
Your duties will include Oracle Administration, which encompasses experience with RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, Golden Gate, Exadata, Performance Tuning, WebLogic middleware, and various storage engines.
You will design and implement various Oracle backup and recovery strategies.
The role involves Oracle replication and slave setup, as well as coding scripts, procedures, and functions.
You will develop methods for monitoring and utilize Linux/Unix and Shell scripting.
Experience with RAC and direct interaction with external customers is required, along with project management responsibilities.
You will coordinate, analyze, design, implement, and administer IT solutions.
Recommending best practices for improvements to current operational processes will be part of your role.
You will administer backup procedures and disaster recovery plans.
Presenting technical courses to customers and participating in an on-call coverage rotation plan are also expected.
You will communicate status and planning activities to customers and team members while collaborating with remote team members.
Working conditions include participation in on-call rotation and periodic overtime, with the ability to perform primary job functions while standing or sitting for extended periods.
The role requires dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computing equipment and the ability to concentrate for long hours under stress due to tight deadlines.
Requirements:
You must have strong customer service skills and the ability to maintain customer expectations and priorities while interfacing with external customers.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
You should be self-motivated and directed, capable of working in a fast-paced demanding environment.
A keen attention to detail is required.
Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
Very effective organizational skills are a must.
You should be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrating sound work ethics is important.
An understanding of current IT service standards such as ITIL is required.
An undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience is necessary.
