Description:

The Oracle Database Consultant position is a remote role based in India, requiring working hours from 5:30 AM IST to 1:30 PM IST.
The consultant will provide complete support for all aspects of managed database and application infrastructure operations for various Pythian customers.
Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle databases, as well as performing Oracle Administration tasks such as RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, Golden Gate, and performance tuning.
The role involves designing and implementing Oracle backup/recovery strategies, setting up Oracle replication, and coding scripts and procedures.
The consultant will develop monitoring methods, participate in project management, and recommend best practices for operational improvements.
Additional duties include administering backup procedures, disaster recovery plans, presenting technical courses, and participating in an on-call coverage rotation.
The position requires effective communication with customers and team members, as well as collaboration with remote team members.
Working conditions include the need for long hours of concentration, the ability to perform tasks while standing or sitting for extended periods, and the dexterity to operate computing equipment.
