Description:
The role involves working closely with a team of 8-15 people responsible for enhancing, evolving, and supporting the large, highly available Electricity Market Management System (MMS).
The team consists of power systems, database, software, and optimization engineers.
As a Sr Database developer, you will contribute and lead advanced development in MMS Application software design, development, testing, integration, and tuning to meet project and/or product commitments.
The main deliverable of projects is a customized system based on GE’s next generation Market System, a cloud-based solution that hosts multi-state wholesale energy markets.
End user customers include Electric Utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs), and Transmission System Operators (TSOs).
These markets are essential for decarbonizing the power system by ensuring reliability while allowing increased penetration of Solar, Wind, and Storage technologies.
Experience in the electric utility industry is highly desirable.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in a “STEM” major (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) from an accredited university or college is required.
A minimum of four (4) years of experience in Oracle 19 (preferred) development in an on-prem or cloud-based enterprise environment is necessary.
Hands-on experience with PL/SQL development, including triggers, types, procedures, and functions is required.
Expertise in writing and modifying extremely complex SQL queries is essential.
Strong knowledge of Oracle Advanced Queues and Oracle Job Scheduler is needed.
A strong understanding of programming changes needed for RAC vs non-RAC implementations is required.
Prior work experience in an agile environment and experience with DevOps is necessary.
Experience with 'Security by Design' and the 10 security principles is required.
