Description:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer with a strong background in Oracle systems and potential .NET integration capabilities.
This position is remote and available for candidates in Costa Rica and Colombia.
The role requires strong proficiency in English.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing advanced Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations to drive business intelligence initiatives.
The candidate will utilize Tableau’s advanced features such as calculated fields, parameters, level-of-detail (LOD) expressions, and dashboard actions to create interactive and insightful visualizations.
The role involves connecting to various data sources (e.g., SQL databases, cloud-based data stores, APIs, flat files) to prepare and integrate data for Tableau visualizations.
The candidate will ensure data is cleaned, transformed, and optimized for high performance in Tableau.
Identifying and troubleshooting performance issues in Tableau dashboards is essential, along with implementing optimizations to improve speed and user experience.
Techniques such as data aggregation, Tableau extracts, and query optimization will be applied to enhance performance.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience) is required.
A minimum of 7+ years of hands-on Tableau development experience is necessary.
The candidate must have a strong understanding of data warehousing principles and experience working with large data sets.
Proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep is required.
Expertise in Tableau dashboard design, including advanced calculations, LOD expressions, and performance tuning techniques is essential.
Advanced SQL skills for querying relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle) are required.
Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration concepts is necessary.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are required, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address data and performance-related challenges effectively are essential.
The candidate should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred qualifications include 5-7+ years of extensive Tableau development experience, Tableau certifications (e.g., Tableau Desktop Certified Professional, Tableau Server Certified Associate), knowledge of data lakes, big data technologies, or NoSQL databases, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript for advanced data processing and visualization.
