Description:

  • Talentus is seeking an Oracle System Administrator for a full-time remote position in LATAM.
  • The role involves daily management, maintenance, and support of Oracle systems, including hardware and software components.
  • Responsibilities include installing, troubleshooting, and repairing data center hardware, managing rack installations, and overseeing the decommission lifecycle of hardware.
  • The administrator will manage and maintain Oracle systems to ensure optimal performance and system integrity.
  • Duties also include diagnosing and resolving system issues, implementing backup and recovery processes, and monitoring data center environments.
  • The position requires creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system documentation, as well as tracking asset inventory.
  • Collaboration with provisioning teams and internal Oracle Cloud service owners is essential for smooth system handoff.
  • The role involves participating in 24/7/365 shift schedules and communicating effectively with senior staff and management.
  • Basic power supply installations and contributions to data center projects are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware.
  • Experience in troubleshooting servers, networking devices, and data center equipment is required.
  • Familiarity with IT hardware concepts such as RAID, SAN, X86 Architecture, and Linux/Unix boot processes is necessary.
  • Knowledge of network device configurations and directory structures is essential.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration and the ability to run Linux commands is required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years working in an IT environment, with at least 5+ years of data center experience, is mandatory.
  • Inventory management experience, including ordering, receiving, and shipping server parts, is needed.
  • A 2- or 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Experience with Sun servers is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or similar are required, with additional certification from Oracle desired.
