Description:

  • The position is for a part-time Cloud Data Architect working from home in Mandaluyong City, Philippines.
  • The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM AEST.
  • The role involves designing and architecting cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support data pipelines, machine learning, and analytics workloads.
  • Responsibilities include installing and managing Apache Airflow on Kubernetes, provisioning and managing Databricks environments, and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
  • The architect will optimize cloud data services using GCP products such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.
  • Collaboration with data engineering teams is essential to design efficient data pipelines and optimize data workflows.
  • The role also includes ensuring security and compliance, monitoring and optimizing performance, managing costs, and maintaining documentation of the cloud architecture.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in Python programming and SQL.
  • Experience with machine learning infrastructure and deploying ML models on cloud platforms is necessary.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and data workflows is required.
  • A strong understanding of data modeling, design, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts is essential.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio, along with proficiency in dashboard development and reporting, is required.
  • Certification in Google Cloud (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Data Engineer) is mandatory, and Databricks certification is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts, stakeholder management, and knowledge of best practices in data security and compliance are considered nice to have.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is also a plus.
