Description:
The position is for a PHP Developer / DevOps to join the Moodle Community team on a 6-month independent contractor role.
The role allows for fully flexible work from anywhere in the European or APAC regions.
Responsibilities include crafting high-quality code, designing improvements for Moodle community sites, conducting code reviews, writing automated tests, and contributing to the future direction of Moodle software.
The role involves building and maintaining relationships with the Moodle HQ team and community members.
The ideal candidate will have a deep sense of open-source culture, experience with Moodle development, strong programming skills in PHP, knowledge of Moodle architecture, and proficiency in various technologies like PHP, SQL, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
Requirements:
Deep understanding of open-source and free software culture.
Demonstrated experience with Moodle development using PHP and JS.
Strong programming experience in a medium to large-scale PHP development environment.
Knowledge of Moodle Architecture, Git, Jira, PHP, SQL, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, web application security, performance, and scalability.
Experience with Web Services and RESTful applications.
Ability to organize workload to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Experience contributing to Moodle, writing unit tests, and behat tests is a plus.
