Description:

PayPay is a FinTech company that has grown to over 65 million users since its launch in 2018.
The company is looking for Platform Engineers who specialize in databases at scale on mission-critical systems.
The role involves ensuring requirements for datastores in PayPay are met and providing support for application teams to maintain sustainable operations.
Responsibilities include database operations such as monitoring, configuration management, upgrades, scaling, backups, and data migration.
The engineer will iterate on database operations to improve quality and efficiency, troubleshoot stability and performance problems, and contribute to documentation for effective decision-making.
The tech stack includes Python, Shell, Go, SQL, PL/SQL, Aurora, MySQL, TiDB, Redis, DynamoDB, AWS, GitHub, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, Flyway, Victoria Metrics, Grafana, Prometheus, Newrelic, Slack, Zoom, Jira, and Confluence.

Requirements:

Candidates must have more than 5 years of DBA experience, with at least 3 years of MySQL experience or 3 years of Redis/DynamoDB experience.
More than 3 years of AWS experience is required.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform is necessary.
Candidates should be interested in new technologies and willing to improve operational quality and efficiency.
Familiarity with shell and programming languages for scripting, such as Python or Go, is required.

The position offers a full-time employment status with the option to work from anywhere in Japan.
Employees enjoy super flex time with no core hours and a typical work schedule from 10:00 am to 6:45 pm.
Paid leave includes annual leave (up to 14 days in the first year) and personal leave (5 days each year).
The salary is paid annually in 12 installments, based on skills, experience, and abilities, with annual reviews and special incentives based on performance.
