Description:
The Platform Security Architect is responsible for designing and driving the adoption of security architectures across the ServiceNow platform, impacting all products and customers.
The role requires a holistic consideration of security, including encryption, key management, authentication, access controls, threat modeling, and interoperability with legacy systems or third-party vendors.
The architect will lead design discussions and decisions regarding encryption, access control, and existing cryptography offerings to meet current cloud standards.
Coordination with company architects, infrastructure teams, and development teams is essential to implement a security program that protects customer data at scale.
The architect will shepherd architectural and system designs through proper approval processes and document security designs using applicable modeling tools.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are necessary to engage with other platform and application teams to ensure security technologies meet consumer requirements and can be operationalized in the cloud.
The role involves bringing deep knowledge of best security practices to compare multiple approaches to large problems and organize teams to iterate with customers for optimal solutions.
The architect will provide technical leadership on various products, including Column Level Encryption, Cloud Encryption, Data Privacy products, Code Signing, Domain Separation, Database Encryption with Customer Controlled Switch, Secrets Management, and Edge Encryption.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience architecting cloud application platforms at a commercial scale.
Expert knowledge of cryptography, key management, and other security mechanisms and best practices is required.
Strong technical skills with a proven record of architecture and design experience in building large-scale distributed systems are essential.
Detailed knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is necessary.
Proficiency in coding in large production projects using Java or similar object-oriented languages is required.
The ability to perform rapid prototyping of concepts and commit to production codebases as needed is essential.
A working knowledge of major compliance and regulatory standards, such as PCI compliance or GDPR, is required.
Candidates must be able to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in an agile software development environment is preferred.

The position offers a competitive base pay range of $207,300 - $362,700, plus equity (when applicable) and variable/incentive compensation.
