Remote Platform Senior DevOps Engineer

Description:

• The position is for a Platform Senior DevOps Engineer, fully remote, based across the UK.
• This is a contract role under Inside IR35.
• Candidates should have a university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of technical professional experience is required.
• In-depth knowledge of hyperscalers like AWS is mandatory.
• Expertise in SAP Converged Cloud (Open Stack) is considered a major plus.
• Candidates should have an understanding of deployment automation and tools such as Ansible and Chef.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, is necessary.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, with a preference for ArgoCD, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins, is required.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace and CloudWatch is essential.
• Candidates should have experience with logging tools such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, or Logstash.
• Knowledge of cloud networking tools, particularly AWS VPCs, VNet, or Google VPC, is important.
• In-depth experience in deploying and managing Cloud-native applications is required, including:
  • Container orchestration tools like Gardener, Kubernetes, or Docker.
  • Helm charts.
  • Repository management tools such as Artifactory or JFrog.
  • Service management tools like Consul or Zookeeper.
• Familiarity with GitLab and/or GitHub is necessary.
• A scripting background in PowerShell or Python is preferred.
• Knowledge of security best practices, including hardened containers and images (STIG), is required.
• Experience with security tools such as Hashicorp Vault or GitHub Secrets is preferred.
• Database knowledge, particularly with SAP HANA, is necessary.
• Expertise with operating systems, especially Linux and RHEL, is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
• Knowledge of SAP and the SAP solution portfolio is considered a plus.
