Description:

  • Braze is seeking a Platform Software Engineer (PSWE) to build, maintain, and evolve their internal infrastructure as a service platform.
  • The role involves applying sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to infrastructure services.
  • Responsibilities include partnering with engineering teams to define and implement IaaS products, developing Braze's internal IaaS platform, and managing incidents.
  • The PSWE will help improve infrastructure reliability via automation and empower other engineering teams to leverage the infrastructure products created.
  • The technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
  • The position requires collaboration with both the PSWE team and consumer engineering teams to continuously improve the infrastructure platform.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of full-stack development experience.
  • A strong understanding of systems, including interfaces, boundaries, edge cases, and failure modes is essential.
  • The ability to collaborate, document, and deliver quickly is required.
  • Experience working with global remote teams and asynchronous collaboration is necessary.
  • Candidates should have a proactive attitude towards fixing issues and a desire to automate challenges faced by software engineers.
  • Excellent multitasking and expectation management skills are required.
  • Experience with large-scale API-driven systems and application/systems observability is necessary.
  • Familiarity with building and automating Kubernetes-based operators/custom resources is required.
