Description:
Braze is seeking a Platform Software Engineer (PSWE) to build, maintain, and evolve their internal infrastructure as a service platform.
The role involves applying sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to infrastructure services.
Responsibilities include partnering with engineering teams to define and implement IaaS products, developing Braze's internal IaaS platform, and managing incidents.
The PSWE will help improve infrastructure reliability via automation and empower other engineering teams to leverage the infrastructure products created.
The technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
The position requires collaboration with both the PSWE team and consumer engineering teams to continuously improve the infrastructure platform.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of full-stack development experience.
A strong understanding of systems, including interfaces, boundaries, edge cases, and failure modes is essential.
The ability to collaborate, document, and deliver quickly is required.
Experience working with global remote teams and asynchronous collaboration is necessary.
Candidates should have a proactive attitude towards fixing issues and a desire to automate challenges faced by software engineers.
Excellent multitasking and expectation management skills are required.
Experience with large-scale API-driven systems and application/systems observability is necessary.
Familiarity with building and automating Kubernetes-based operators/custom resources is required.
