Description:

  • The Principal Data Engineer will play a critical role in implementing various solutions to ingest, process, and provision data to/from a Data Lake.
  • The Data Lake enables data capabilities in reporting, analytics, and allows scientists to explore data in automated and self-service models.
  • The role involves taking ownership of development for processing and analyzing data across the data platform.
  • Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines to process data into and out of the Data Lake.
  • The engineer will work with AWS big data technologies including EMR, Glue, S3, EKS, Lambda, Athena, and RDS.
  • The position requires developing and maintaining the data strategy in terms of capabilities and control mechanisms that support the company's responsibilities as a regulated national bank.
  • The engineer will provide technical leadership in data systems development, including data ingestion, curation, storage, high-throughput processing, and analytics.
  • Collaboration with business partners on requirements, clarification, and results is essential.
  • Participation in developing and enforcing data security and access control policies is required.
  • The engineer will develop effective controls for a resilient data ingestion process and support application data integration design and build efforts, including real-time capabilities.
  • Conducting code reviews in accordance with team processes and standards is also part of the role.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have over 10 years of experience in the field.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of demonstrated ability in a Data Engineering role is required.
  • Candidates should have 4-5 years of prior experience working in Web Development.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary to share insights and expectations with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues, both locally and remotely.
