Description:

Articul8 AI is seeking a Principal AI Infrastructure Engineer to architect, scale, and optimize the backend infrastructure for their enterprise Generative AI platform.
This role involves designing distributed systems for AI/ML at scale and optimizing infrastructure for large model workloads.
The engineer will lead the architecture and delivery of highly scalable, cloud-native, and cloud-agnostic infrastructure supporting AI/ML workflows.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing backend systems optimized for GenAI workloads, partnering with various teams to influence platform direction, and championing operational excellence in automation, security, networking, observability, and cost optimization.
The role also includes mentoring engineers, promoting best practices, and participating in on-call rotation for platform reliability and incident management.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience building and operating scalable, high-performance cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is required.
Practical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is necessary.
A strong background in distributed systems, network architecture, and security best practices is essential.
Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) and API gateways (e.g., Kong, Traefik) is required.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python or Bash is needed.
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers is a must.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience is required.
