The company is looking for a Principal AI & Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of AI-powered data products.
This role is high-impact and hands-on, reporting directly to the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO).
Responsibilities include owning AI/ML initiatives end-to-end, developing production-grade ML systems, and applying various machine learning techniques.
The engineer will build scalable data products such as recommendation engines, forecasting tools, and fraud detection systems.
The role involves leading MLOps efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving innovation by staying updated on industry trends.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in an AI/ML role within a high-growth startup, with a proven track record of building and launching multiple data products.
Experience in real-world applications of ML solutions, including recommendations, forecasting, and fraud detection, is required.
Full-stack ML expertise is necessary, covering data engineering, modeling, and MLOps.
Strong programming skills in Spark, Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, MLFlow, Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes are essential.
An advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics, Physics, or relevant industry experience is required.
Strong communication and leadership skills are necessary, with the ability to mentor others and influence technical direction.

Competitive compensation packages are offered, with a base salary range of CAD $170K to 225K.
