Description:
The Principal Android Engineer will lead mission-critical mobile initiatives that serve millions of passengers worldwide.
This role involves driving the technical vision and architecture of the client’s flagship Android applications while leading a talented team of nearshore developers.
The engineer will shape the future of traveler interactions with airlines by delivering seamless mobile experiences.
Responsibilities include defining the technical vision, making recommendations for coding standards, leading architectural reviews, mentoring the development team, and managing project delivery.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure high-security standards.
The role requires staying current with Android platform updates and championing mobile development best practices.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience as an Android developer, with familiarity in older Android technologies.
Senior expertise in both Android native and responsive application development is required.
Proficiency in Jetpack Compose, Kotlin, Java, and common frameworks including RESTful APIs is essential.
Experience with live fire coding, Room/SQLite, multi-threading, asynchronous programming, and NFC knowledge is necessary.
Candidates should have experience uploading apps to the Google Play Store and integrating third-party SDKs.
A thorough understanding of mobile device testing for both Android and iOS devices is required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to manage ambiguity in a dynamic environment are essential.
Experience leading, mentoring, and motivating teams of mobile developers is preferred.
