Description:
Feathr is a nonprofit marketing platform that helps over 1,300 nonprofits unlock results, time, and confidence.
The Principal Backend Engineer will work remotely in Eastern or Central time zones or from the headquarters in Gainesville, FL.
This role involves backend software development projects under the direction of the Associate Director of Product Engineering.
The Principal Engineer will own their code from planning to maintenance and collaborate with stakeholders to develop requirements and design technical solutions.
Responsibilities include deploying and monitoring changes in production and addressing issues as they arise.
The anticipated start date for this role is expected to be in mid-May.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in software development, particularly with a strong focus on SaaS products.
Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems is required.
Professional experience in shipping complicated software to real users is necessary.
Technical skills must include working with synchronous and asynchronous environments, advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis, and Python.
Experience with Advanced ElasticSearch APIs, MongoDB Queries and Aggregations, and AWS infrastructure and services (EC2 and EKS) is essential.
Candidates should have experience with self-hosted Drone CI/CD.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A detail-oriented approach to building software and the ability to adapt to quickly changing conditions are necessary.
Benefits:
The compensation range for this position is $145,000 - $165,000 base salary, with a bonus potential of up to 12%.
