Description:
Develocity is a product that software teams use to accelerate and optimize builds for Gradle, Apache Mavenâ„¢, Bazel, and sbt.
The product includes large-volume data ingestion and processing, complex data analysis and visualization, and distributed caching and execution systems.
It is utilized by leading organizations such as Netflix, Airbnb, Spotify, and SAP, among others.
The company collaborates with users to continuously improve its products and has partnerships with the Apache Software Foundation and other open-source projects.
The Principal Backend Engineer will be a key technical leader, guiding the architecture and development of Develocity.
Responsibilities include leading the design and delivery of complex features, driving technical innovation, contributing to backend architecture evolution, participating in code reviews, and mentoring other engineers.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a deep understanding of Java and the JVM.
Extensive experience in designing, building, and operating fault-tolerant, distributed systems at scale is required.
A strong understanding of performance optimization, memory management, and scalability is necessary.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines is essential.
Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and mentor other engineers is required.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary, with the ability to clearly articulate technical ideas.
Preferred qualifications include experience with build automation tools (Gradle, Maven), API development, and interaction with enterprise customers.
