Remote Principal Backend Engineer , Grafana O11y (Remote, US)

Description:

• The Principal Backend Engineer for Grafana O11y will be responsible for driving technical and business strategy in the Observability department.
• They will influence the product roadmap, drive innovations, and create design documents for system design.
• The engineer will work with the team to deliver new features, ensure reliability, performance, and availability of critical systems, and participate in on-call rotations.
• Mentoring team members, becoming a subject matter expert for observability products, and gaining a deeper understanding of the cloud product and codebase are key responsibilities.
• The role involves being customer-focused, delivering projects from requirements gathering to product shipping, and having experience in building and deploying SaaS software on cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with Kubernetes, operating production services, and actively mentoring team members are essential.
• Sharing knowledge through blog posts, tech talks, and a curiosity for learning new programming languages and frameworks are also important aspects of the role.
