Remote Principal Backend Engineer, Grafana (Remote, Germany)

Description:

• The Principal Backend Engineer will be responsible for driving changes in Grafana's core architecture to make it fully multi-tenant and scalable, as well as a solid platform for Cloud apps.
• The role involves influencing the roadmap, delivering new features, and iterating to improve them.
• The engineer will design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and availability.
• Collaboration with the team, contributing to open-source projects, and mentoring other team members are key responsibilities.
• The position requires learning new skills, gaining a deeper understanding of the cloud product, and the codebase of a large distributed system.

Requirements:

• Solid experience with at least one programming language, preferably Go, but familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar is acceptable.
• Experience in delivering projects from gathering requirements to shipping products in a self-driven manner.
• Proficiency in developing software for the Cloud or some experience in systems engineering.
• Ability to write clean, robust, and performant software that is easily maintainable by others.
