Remote Principal Backend Software Engineer

Description:

• The Principal Backend Software Engineer will act as the lead backend engineer, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering.
• Responsibilities include designing RESTful APIs for Private Jet Charter Broker/Operator solutions, maintaining and scaling AWS infrastructure, and implementing database schemas.
• The role involves developing, testing, and maintaining server-side applications using Node.js, creating automated tests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• The engineer will work closely with front-end developers, mentor junior developers, and provide production support during critical periods.

Requirements:

• Minimum qualifications include 10-12 years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and expertise in writing secure web applications and AWS technologies.
• Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL schema design, SQL query optimization, Prisma, AWS, DevOps tools, Express, and Node.js is required.
• Exposure to distributed system cache, event-based systems, Kafka, Zookeeper, pub/sub, and third-party system integrations is necessary.
