Remote Principal Cybersecurity Architect

• Business Wire, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Architect to lead the development and maintenance of a robust enterprise security architecture plan.
• The role involves close collaboration with leaders across cybersecurity, IT, and operations to formulate a holistic and adaptive security strategy.
• The Principal Cybersecurity Architect will ensure that Business Wire maintains a leading architecture that evolves with changing environments, industry requirements, and threats.
• Responsibilities include leading the development and execution of a comprehensive enterprise security architecture strategy, ensuring stakeholder security requirements are addressed, and integrating cybersecurity policies with IT architecture.
• The role requires ensuring security is integrated throughout the system development life cycle and that continuous monitoring practices are in place.
• The architect will develop and maintain business, systems, and information processes that support Business Wire’s mission and enterprise needs.
• Compliance with major industry frameworks, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, is essential, along with continuous monitoring and updating of the security architecture.
• The architect will document and address information security requirements throughout the acquisition life cycle and conduct post-integration reviews.
• Security reviews will be performed to identify gaps in the architecture, and comprehensive security risk management plans will be developed.
• The role includes leading the creation of a strategy for integrated security tools and technologies and continuously assessing their effectiveness.
• The architect will drive innovation by researching emerging cybersecurity technologies and developing a forward-looking technology roadmap for security architecture.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal architect role is required.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise security architectures and strategies is essential.
• Excellent communication skills are necessary to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Expertise in re-architecting and refactoring legacy applications to improve security, scalability, and performance is required.
• A deep understanding of cloud-native security controls, such as IAM, encryption, network security, and security monitoring in cloud environments is needed.
• Experience in automating cloud security tasks using cloud-native and third-party tools is essential.
• Skills in innovation and problem-solving are required.
• Proven experience with software development methodologies, including waterfall, agile, and DevSecOps, is necessary.
• A strong understanding of the NIST Framework(s), TOGAF, SABSA, MITRE ATT&CK Framework, and OSA is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
