Description:
The Principal Cybersecurity Threat Researcher works in the KnowBe4 Threat Research Lab.
This role is responsible for deploying and configuring various security products and solutions, including endpoint, email, web, and network protection.
The researcher will maintain various cybersecurity products in a lab environment.
Keeping up to date with emerging threats and security technologies is essential.
The position involves recommending solutions for security product deployment and configurations.
The researcher will maintain license and product updates.
Experience in designing, implementing, and hardening systems is required.
The role requires analytical thinking and collaborative work.
The researcher will provide coordination across functional boundaries.
The position helps translate KnowBe4's strategic goals into operational plans.
Acting as a team lead for large projects is a key responsibility.
The researcher will contribute significantly to technology, potentially resulting in patents, trade secrets, and/or professional publications and presentations.
Establishing operational objectives and assignments is part of the role.
The researcher will contribute as a technical expert to the development of new principles and concepts, providing innovative solutions across diverse technical areas.
Requirements:
A BS or equivalent plus 8 years of experience is required, or an MS or equivalent plus 4 years of experience.
The candidate must keep up to date with emerging threats and security technologies.
Experience in threat and APT phishing campaign analysis is necessary.
The candidate should be well-versed with IOCs, reverse engineering, and threat campaign tracking.
Scripting capabilities for automating the handling of large volumes of threat artifacts such as files, emails, and URLs are required.
Expertise in URL analysis, phishing email analysis, and reverse engineering is essential.
The candidate must be able to recommend solutions for security product deployment and configurations.
Analytical thinking and collaborative work are necessary skills.
The candidate should provide coordination across functional boundaries.
Acting as a team lead for large projects is required.
Establishing operational objectives and assignments is part of the role.
The candidate must have experience in malicious URL and phishing email analysis.
Scripting capabilities for automating the handling of large volumes of threat artifacts are required.
