Description:

This is a remote position for a Principal Data Engineer at Crisis Text Line, part of the Build organization.
The Build group aims to build and scale a leading Crisis Care Platform, develop innovative AI solutions, architect a robust API-first platform, and foster a trusted community environment.
The role involves guiding technology and architecture to unlock global scale and impact for crisis support.
Responsibilities include leading ML/AI initiatives to enhance human-to-human connectivity, designing scalable architectures, implementing infrastructure as code, and providing architectural guidance across teams.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
Candidates must have 10 years of software development experience within cloud, SaaS, enterprise, and ML/AI.
Deep experience in supporting and evolving high uptime, high scale services and platforms is necessary.
The ability to influence multiple stakeholders and evolve technology strategy based on research, data, and industry trends is essential.
Expertise in Go language is required.
Candidates should have experience in API design and development, including securing and monitoring API endpoints.
Service Oriented Architecture expertise is needed, with experience in microservices, macro services, and mini-monolith architectures.
The ability to lead product/engineering teams in pragmatic service design is crucial.
