Remote Principal Data Engineer

Description:

• PeopleFun, an award-winning mobile game creator, is looking for a Principal Data Engineer to contribute to building and maintaining their data ecosystem.
• The role involves working with a small team of data engineers to design flexible and scalable solutions for multiple live and developing games.
• Responsibilities include creating and maintaining data pipelines, optimizing data jobs, transforming requirements into accurate data models, enhancing monitoring on data quality, and providing technical guidance to the team.
• The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, experience in SQL and Python (BigQuery preferred), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields with a focus on engineering.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related fields with a focus on engineering.
• 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Extensive experience in SQL and Python (BigQuery preferred).
• Experience in developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and flexible ETL processes.
• Experience working with external data providers/sources via API, raw data drops, and other protocols.
• Experience maintaining the health of a managed Airflow service or similar.
• Experience designing, monitoring, and scaling high volume event-based pipelines.

Benefits:

• Competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance rewards approach.
• Expected base pay range of $140,000-$190,000 for this position.
