Description:

The Principal Data Engineer will lead the implementation of the Assembly Orchestrator platform, which manages and executes Standard Operating Processes (SOPs).
This role requires deep technical expertise in distributed systems, data engineering, and software architecture, emphasizing the creation of scalable, reliable, and secure data processing pipelines.
Key responsibilities include leading architecture and development for data systems, defining technical standards, mentoring engineers, and driving architecture discussions aligned with data governance and security standards.
The role involves building distributed data processing systems using Java and Python, designing event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka, and developing workflow orchestration logic with Temporal.
The engineer will create resilient data pipelines, enable real-time analytics, implement scalable storage strategies, and integrate security measures.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in data engineering or backend software development.
A minimum of 5 years of experience building distributed systems in production environments is required.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
A proven track record of delivering large-scale, reliable data systems is essential.
Strong experience in event-driven architectures and messaging systems is necessary.
Preferred qualifications include experience with workflow engines like Temporal or Airflow, understanding of business process automation, and a background in real-time data streaming and analytics.
Contributions to open-source projects and familiarity with machine learning data pipelines are also preferred.
