Description:
Lead the design and development of a robust data architecture to guide data modeling, integration, processing, and delivery standards at Scribd.
Serve as a data and analytics solution architect, overseeing initiatives related to data warehousing, data pipeline development, data integrations, and data modeling.
Shape Scribd’s data strategy and provide guidance to stakeholders on data consumption and utilization.
Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, and other Engineering and Business teams to design cohesive data models, database schemas, and data storage solutions.
Work on projects to enhance customer satisfaction for internal customers of Scribd data.
Join a data engineering team working on challenges within a domain encompassing Scribd, Everand, and Slideshare, serving over 200 million monthly visitors and 2 million paying subscribers.
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in data strategy, data architecture, modeling, solution design, data engineering, or a similar role.
Hands-on experience with data lake technologies (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake), data storage formats (e.g., Parquet, Avro), and query engines (e.g., Athena, Presto).
Strong understanding of distributed systems, Restful APIs, and data consumption patterns.
Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and real-time and batch analytics frameworks.
Proficient in at least one dialect of SQL.
Hands-on experience in Scala or Python.
Experience with streaming platforms like Kafka, AWS data platform services, and implementing data pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
Strong communication skills using collaboration tools like Jira, Slack, etc.
Experience with automation and CI/CD tooling like Git, GitHub, Docker, Jenkins, Terraform.
Experience developing standards for database design and strategic data architecture initiatives.
Familiarity with integrating with BI frameworks like Qlik, ThoughtSpot, Looker, Tableau.

Salary range in the United States: $158,000 to $268,000, in California: $191,500 to $282,000, and in Canada: $198,500 CAD to $267,000 CAD.
