Description:
Honor is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to join their team remotely.
The role involves developing statistical and machine learning models to enhance the operations platform and improve client services.
Responsibilities include leveraging data to solve complex problems, collaborating with diverse teams, researching operational issues, leading model design and implementation, integrating machine learning into applications, and mentoring teammates throughout project lifecycles.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, strong mathematical and statistical fundamentals, and a degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
Candidates should have over 7 years of industry experience, expertise in numerical software packages, and the ability to manage product ambiguity while fostering accountability in team projects.
Bonus points for experience in optimizing portfolio allocation, using survival analysis, collaborating with designers for data collection, applying Generative AI and NLP methods, and utilizing spatial statistics.
Requirements:
Candidates must have excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical peers.
A degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Physics, or equivalent professional experience is required.
A strong product sense and extensive experience in solving complex business problems and maintaining Python in a production environment are essential.
A minimum of 7 years of industry experience is required.
Expertise with numerical software packages such as NumPy and scikit-learn is necessary.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage product ambiguity and seek clarity when needed.
The ability to foster an environment of accountability for team projects through planning, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring is crucial.
