Description:
Perforce is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer I to design and build the next-generation cloud platform for its SaaS product portfolio.
The role focuses on ensuring the security, reliability, and high availability of all production and CI/CD environments and applications.
Responsibilities include building platforms and frameworks for consistent management of applications and infrastructure between non-production and production environments.
The engineer will mentor exceptional engineers and DevOps developers on cloud technology and practices.
The position involves implementing application security best practices throughout the agile SDLC.
The engineer will foster a DevOps culture at Perforce to ensure efficient testing, delivery, and deployment of software artifacts.
The role includes leading the development and enhancements of CI/CD pipeline infrastructure and tools.
The engineer will establish technical design principles and practices across all product portfolios to integrate operation design into the development lifecycle.
Daily tasks will involve developing a technical design for the cloud platform, creating a framework, and collaborating with Dev and DevOps teams to meet quality standards.
Requirements:
A BS/MS/BTech in Computer Science, Engineering, Management, or a related field is preferred.
Candidates should have 10+ years of experience in SaaS software cloud operation and development, with a total of 15+ years of industry experience.
A deep understanding and solid experience with fundamental services on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including Compute, Network, Database, Security, Management, and Observability, is required.
Expertise in managing and building CI/CD pipelines for system software, Operating Systems, and libraries is necessary.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, or Java is required.
Excellent hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker container technology is essential.
Candidates must have hands-on experience as a software developer and technical leader.
A deep technical knowledge of cloud-based scalable web application architectures and technologies, preferably AWS or GCP, is required.
Proficiency in driving secure SDLC with DevSecOps practices and metrics is necessary.
Hands-on development experience with infrastructure as code frameworks, such as Terraform and Serverless Framework, is a plus.
Experience with DevOps automation tools like Terraform, Puppet, AWS Cloud Formation, and Azure ARM templates is required.
