The company is seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to lead the development, integration, and optimization of cutting-edge autonomy algorithms for complex systems in aerospace and defense domains.
The role involves collaboration with software engineers, systems engineers, and testing teams to design, implement, and validate advanced autonomy solutions that meet stringent operational and safety requirements.
Responsibilities include designing and developing autonomy algorithms, integrating autonomy systems with hardware and software, overseeing testing efforts, leading multidisciplinary teams, optimizing system performance, documenting findings, and staying updated on industry trends.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a related field is required; a Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred.
Candidates must have 15+ years of professional experience in developing, testing, and integrating autonomy algorithms for complex systems.
Extensive experience in developing autonomy solutions for robotics, aerospace, or defense applications is required, including proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and hands-on experience with middleware frameworks like ROS or DDS is necessary.
Candidates should have expertise in simulation environments and a strong understanding of AI/ML techniques applied to perception, planning, and decision-making systems.
Proven track record of integrating autonomy systems into hardware platforms and experience in rigorous testing and validation processes is essential.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with systems engineering and product management teams is required.
Familiarity with open architecture standards for defense applications and knowledge of regulatory requirements for autonomous systems is necessary.
Additional skills include the ability to manage multiple projects, experience with DevOps practices, and an active SECRET clearance.
Benefits:
The total compensation package for this position ranges from $220,000 to $330,000 per year, including salary, bonus, benefits, and equity for regular employee positions.
Temporary employee positions offer hourly compensation within the same range and a temporary benefits package after 60 days of employment.
International positions may include additional benefits such as hardship differentials, cost of living adjustments, living quarters allowances, and relocation assistance.
