• Homebound is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team as a Front-End leaning Full Stack Developer.
• The role involves shaping the technical direction of projects and leading a team of talented engineers.
• The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in frontend architecture, a strong eye for design consistency, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and GraphQL is required, along with a proven track record in building and implementing design systems.
• Responsibilities include architecting frontend systems, collaborating with backend engineers, guiding best practices, driving architectural decisions, and participating in project estimation and risk assessment.
• The role also involves collaborating with design teams to establish design principles, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and managing a component library.
• The candidate will explore and implement the latest trends in design system technology and lead the technical roadmap for the design system.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and driving large-scale technical initiatives, particularly in frontend and design system development.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and React, with extensive experience in modern web development, state management, and component architecture.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and experience building and scaling design systems using tools like Figma, Storybook, and GitHub.
• Proven ability to consult on and lead cross-functional projects, with the communication skills to present technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in testing frameworks, CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and quality assurance tools for development workflows.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with GraphQL and tools like Apollo Client or Relay, familiarity with backend technologies (e.g., Node), and cloud platforms like AWS.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 12+ years in software development and 4+ years in technical leadership roles.
