Remote Principal Engineer, Front-End/Full Stack (R2611)

Description:

• Shield AI is a venture-backed defense technology company founded in 2015, focused on protecting service members and civilians with intelligent systems.
• The Principal Engineer will be part of the Hivemind Commander (HMC) team, actively shaping and implementing the HMC Core Product.
• The HMC Core Product is a foundational set of services that allows human operators and third parties to interact with Hivemind Edge autonomy systems and aircraft.
• Responsibilities include contributing to the HMC platform, building and documenting interfaces for internal and customer use, and developing a command and control software development kit (SDK).
• The role requires collaboration with other engineers and new customers to create robust interfaces and architectures for seamless integration with new systems.
• The engineer will need to become deeply familiar with the entire HME System and its extension points.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 15 years of related experience in developing large, production-quality software systems is required.
• At least 3 years of demonstrated experience with React, Node, Typescript, and Material UI is necessary.
• Expertise in architectural design and implementation of large and complex distributed systems is essential.
• Professional experience working with designers and user experience researchers is required.
• A strong work ethic, trustworthiness, high standards, and kindness towards others are essential qualities for this position.

Benefits:

• The salary range for this position is $210,119 - $315,179 per year, with additional bonuses, benefits, and equity for regular employees.
• Temporary employees receive an hourly wage within the specified range and a temporary benefits package after 60 days of employment.
• International positions may include additional benefits such as international premium, hardship differential, cost of living differential, living quarters allowance, and relocation assistance.
