Description:

Shield AI is a venture-backed defense technology company founded in 2015, focused on protecting service members and civilians with intelligent systems.
The Principal Engineer Full Stack Developer will be part of the Special Projects team, which consists of highly experienced software engineering experts from diverse fields.
The team is responsible for steering technology development towards strategic alignment with the CTO’s vision and making contributions to Hivemind, Shield AI’s software ecosystem.
The role involves architecting and building next-generation AI interfaces for seamless human-AI interaction, focusing on real-time experiences with multiple input types.
The position requires collaboration with ML engineers to implement streaming interfaces that provide continuous feedback and visibility into AI processes.
The developer will work on integrating Hivemind Edge, Design, and Commander into a cohesive product.

Requirements:

A BS/MS in Computer Science, a similar degree, or equivalent practical experience is required.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in developing large, production-quality software systems is necessary.
Candidates must have a strong grasp of software development principles and high productivity in mainstream languages such as Typescript, C++, Go, or Python.
At least 5 years of experience with React, Node, Typescript, and React Components is required.
Strong technical collaboration skills and a desire to develop new skills are essential.
Candidates should be excited about working in a fast-paced environment with a motivated team.
A demonstrated record of hard work, trustworthiness, high standards, and kindness is expected.
Experience with real-time streaming interfaces over HTTP and WebSockets, multi-modal input handling, and advanced SPA routing is required.
Knowledge of client-side state management, progress indicators, and URL-based state persistence is necessary.

The salary range for this position is $220,000 - $330,000 per year, with additional bonuses and benefits.
