Description:

  • The Principal Engineer at Laudio will report to the VP of Engineering and work on software built on AWS with React, Node, and other technologies.
  • The role involves collaborating with a globally distributed team across multiple time zones, with some early morning meetings.
  • The position requires living within commuting distance to Buffalo, NY or Boston, MA for in-person collaboration and attending team/company retreats a few times per year.
  • Responsibilities include end-to-end technical ownership, software architecture design, hands-on coding, technical mentorship, and working across various initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience as a SaaS application engineer, expertise in React, Node, Typescript, SQL Server, and AWS, and experience with CRM style/workforce management products.
  • The Principal Engineer should have an owner's mindset, strong fundamentals in communication and problem-solving, stay current with technology trends, and have experience with CI/CD, defensive programming, and automated testing.
  • Previous experience working at an early-stage startup, with offshore teams, and remotely is a plus.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a SaaS application engineer with a modern tech stack
  • Experience in end-to-end ownership of engineering initiatives in a SaaS context
  • Proficiency in React, Node, Typescript, SQL Server, and AWS with deep expertise in 2+ areas
  • Ability to balance technical considerations with the need to ship fast and create value
  • Optional: Experience building CRM style/workforce management products
  • Strong fundamentals in communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking
  • Comfortable with a wide range of technologies and best development practices
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, defensive programming, feature flags, and automated testing
  • Experience in designing and building complex distributed and scalable systems
