Description:
Peerspace is the leading online marketplace for venue rentals for meetings, productions, and events, with over $500M transacted through the platform.
The Principal Front-end Engineer is responsible for architecting and implementing world-class front-end technology for the Peerspace platform.
This role involves driving consensus and adoption of front-end technology across the team and creating a consistent, elegant, performant, and scalable developer experience.
The engineer will collaborate with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to align front-end excellence with the broader technology strategy and Peerspace’s product and business objectives.
Requirements:
Candidates should have demonstrated success as the overall owner of front-end web technology for a startup or growth-stage company, preferably in the marketplace, travel/hospitality, or e-commerce space.
Effective leadership and mentoring experience of organizations with 10+ front-end developers is required.
Candidates must have 10+ years in software development with at least 5 years in a front-end role.
Expertise in React, Next.js, CSS, and related frameworks is essential.
Proficiency in building micro-frontends, single-page applications (SPA), and implementing design systems and component libraries is required.
Experience with front-end build systems, continuous integration pipelines, SEO optimization, and scalable caching using CDNs is necessary.
Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, internationalization, localization, accessibility, unit testing, and performance monitoring is expected.
Adjacent knowledge in backend, infrastructure, DevOps engineering, mobile development, UX/UI design, or database technologies is a plus.
