Description:

  • Sequel Med Tech is looking for a Principal IT Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of technical infrastructure for customer- and employer-facing programs.
  • The role involves overseeing the integration of various systems and technologies critical to the success of digital products, starting with the employer program and customer and caregiver portal.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with Technology and Operations leadership to define a vision and roadmap, then collaborate with product teams to execute strategies in an agile manner.
  • Responsibilities include selecting and implementing new technologies, designing a cloud-based infrastructure, mentoring engineering staff, managing technical projects, staying updated on emerging technologies in healthcare, and ensuring data security and disaster recovery protocols.
  • The ideal candidate values shared ownership, accountability, empowerment, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related field, or equivalent career experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT architecture design and implementation, with at least half in a medical device or healthcare IT role.
  • Fluency in agile development practices and ability to challenge assumptions and navigate corporate funding and reporting models.
  • Strong understanding of IT security best practices, compliance regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST), and data privacy.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to be hands-on-keyboard with engineering teams to accelerate implementation.
