Description:
The Principal Security Architect/Engineer is an individual contributor role focused on security design and implementation across Mattel.
This position is crucial for advancing the information security posture of the organization’s products, solutions, and systems.
Responsibilities include conducting collaborative Design Reviews, Threat Modeling, Security Requirements, Secure SDLC, Vulnerability Assessments, and Security Risk Analysis.
The role emphasizes secure cloud architecture, requiring experience in security assessments for internal and cloud systems, wireless, web applications, and SaaS/PaaS integrations.
The candidate must work autonomously with minimal oversight and provide strategic roadmaps for execution, tracking progress with supporting metrics.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal, are critical.
Strong technical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills are required.
Requirements:
Candidates must have thorough knowledge of all layers of the information security stack.
A deep understanding of securing cloud computing services, including Compute, Containers, Datastores, Serverless, Networking, Access Management, and Cryptographic Keys is essential.
Proven experience with one or more cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or OCI is required.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of code management and deployment processes, including Code Repositories and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of security/compliance standards and industry best practices, such as NIST and PCI, is necessary.
The ability to maintain healthy working relationships with cross-domain peers is important.
A proven track record of delivering security solutions under tight timelines is required.
Experience in Network Security, Web Application Security, and Wireless Security (Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC) is needed.
Candidates must be able to manage and configure industry-standard security scanning tools.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, .Net, Python, Go, and Objective-C is required.
A Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of professional experience are necessary.
Candidates should demonstrate a growth mindset by staying curious, continuously learning, and embracing challenges.
Benefits:
The annual base salary range for this position is between $164,000 and $200,000, determined based on work location, skills, and experience.
