Description:
Business Wire, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking an experienced full-stack Principal Software Engineer to lead the engineering design and development for an architecture modernization effort for their press release processing system.
The role involves a complete rebuild of the back office system, transitioning from a legacy architecture to a modern, serverless technology stack, a new database platform, and a new REST API platform.

Implementation of CI/CD flows is also a key responsibility, along with tackling a variety of technical problems throughout the stack and contributing to all parts of the product code base.
Collaboration with product managers, designers, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders is essential to develop complex systems.
The engineer will perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards, monitor the implementation of engineering designs, and address any implementation issues.
Identifying and designing solutions for performance bottlenecks and operational improvements to existing applications is also part of the role.

Candidates must have 15+ years of relevant hands-on programming experience.
Technical leadership experience is required, specifically leading 6-10 engineers on projects lasting 6+ months.
Expert-level knowledge in modern programming languages and their ecosystems, including Python, Go Lang, Node.js, or similar, is necessary.

Excellent communication skills are a must.
Strong skills in developing engineering designs and related documentation are required.
Benefits:
The position offers the ability to work remotely.
Excellent health benefits begin on the first day of employment.
A $100 monthly fitness allotment, a tuition reimbursement program, and enhanced mental health resources are included.
A 401(k) plan with a generous company match and annual profit-sharing contribution (subject to company performance) is provided.
Employees receive PTO, Floating Holidays, a Wellness Day Off, a Birthday Day Off, and more.
