Description:

OpenX is seeking a talented and highly motivated Principal Software Engineer to innovate and improve their high-volume, low-latency exchange platform.
The role involves optimizing the exchange to extract maximum value and supporting Google Privacy Sandbox initiatives.
The engineer will help navigate changes to the third-party cookie in Chrome and participate in high-impact projects addressing business needs.
Collaboration with product engineering teams is essential to ensure the architecture supports product success.
Responsibilities include designing high-performance, distributed, low-latency systems, creating and delivering new features, and analyzing server efficiency and stability.
The engineer will work with multiple distributed teams and is expected to participate in industry working groups to influence ad tech direction.
The role requires a long-term perspective, focusing on removing unnecessary complexity and performing other duties as needed.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience with low-latency high-volume applications, including development, performance analysis, and monitoring in a JVM-based language, C++, or Golang.
Experience with Javascript and familiarity with browser fundamentals is a plus.
Proficiency in Golang, Elixir/Erlang, or Java is advantageous.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, and Docker is a significant advantage.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage projects efficiently under tight deadlines are required.
Candidates should be self-starters capable of working independently and showing initiative in the absence of specific directions.
The ability to work effectively in a team, coordinate or lead others, and interact with external customers is essential.
Experience in digital media, marketing technology, or advertising technology is a plus.
Familiarity with or willingness to use Erlang as the company transitions to Golang is required.
Proficiency with Google Suite (Mail, Calendar, Docs, Meetings, etc.) is necessary.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent degree is required.

The salary range for this position is $229,500 - $245,000 per year, plus bonus and equity.
