Remote Principal Software Engineer

Description:

• Valimail, a leader in Email Authentication as a Service, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join their team.
• The role involves working on tasks to unblock and level up team members, investigating current and new features, and building out the SaaS DMARC application.
• The candidate will collaborate with other teams, pair with engineers to help them technically, and run Architectural Review Board meetings.
• Responsibilities include mentoring peers, writing efficient code in Ruby on Rails and Go, and communicating with cross-functional teams.
• The position requires aligning with engineering managers, providing technical expertise, and supporting tech leads in decision-making.
• The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of web application experience, proficiency in Ruby on Rails and Go, and excellent communication skills.
• Bonus points for experience with Hotwire, React, Redis, RSpec, AWS, and security perspectives.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in building web applications.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and Go.
• Understanding of PostgreSQL optimization.
• Ability to analyze system architecture and inform technical decisions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience working in a distributed team with a modern tech stack.
• Comfortable operating in a remote environment.
