Description:
Foley is seeking a Principal Software Engineer with extensive experience in Software Architecture, Delivery Automation, and foundational programming patterns and practices.
The role involves setting the direction of software architecture, evaluating tools and technologies, and fostering team growth.
This position is remote, open to candidates in CT, MA, SC, GA, FL, and TX.
The starting compensation for this position is $165,000.
In the first 30 days, the engineer will learn about Foley’s products, meet teammates and stakeholders, understand development processes, and participate in architecture discussions.
Within the first 6 months, the engineer will help improve Foley’s technological footprint, manage 2-3 engineers, assist in design and development of delivery processes, and promote a culture of safety and collaboration.
The engineer will also serve as a thought leader in technology and architecture, implement configurations to support business processes, and collaborate on new application development.
Requirements:
Candidates must have an exceptional grasp of fundamental engineering concepts.
A strong passion for developer experience is essential.
Experience and extensive knowledge of Scrum or Agile development methodologies are required.
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, are necessary.
Candidates should have an excellent understanding of building and running .NET software in a cloud environment, particularly AWS.
Strong documentation, organizational, and planning skills are required.
Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and patterns is essential.
Experience with infrastructure as code tools and products is necessary.
A working knowledge of container and orchestration technologies is required.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of various database products, including Microsoft SQL and redshift.
