Remote Principal Software Engineer

Description:

• Hiive is a fintech/marketplace startup connecting buyers and sellers of stock in venture-backed pre-IPO companies.
• The Principal Engineer will lead the engineering team, aligning them to deliver on specific missions and being the senior-most technician.
• Responsibilities include hands-on contribution to product development, directing engineers, working with product and engineering leadership, creating a scalable infrastructure, and building a supportive engineering culture.
• The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading engineering teams, be proficient in Typescript, React, and Elixir, own software architecture, pay attention to detail, have knowledge of security and performance requirements, conduct code reviews, advocate for best practices, assist in hiring, mentor team members, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
• Expertise in building frontend with React and Typescript or backend systems with Elixir and Phoenix.
• Experience with relational databases, Typescript, GraphQL, and DevOps.
• Preferable experience includes building GraphQL APIs, working with Vercel and Next.js, understanding Postgres databases, and deploying AWS services and Kubernetes with Terraform.
