Opala is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to develop software products and architectures that address unique problems for healthcare customers.
The role involves participation in every phase of the software development lifecycle, from analyzing requirements to deployment, while adhering to agile methodologies.
Responsibilities include driving the technical vision, ensuring quality and sustainability of software architecture, and taking ownership of critical software components.
The engineer will lead design, coding, and code reviews, and maintain large-scale software in production environments.
The position requires expertise in performance, scalability, distributed architecture, and best engineering practices.
The engineer will translate complex business requirements into robust software solutions and lead high-stakes, cross-functional projects.
The role includes mentoring team members and providing guidance on technical decisions.
Staying updated on healthcare interoperability standards and trends is essential.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in designing and building cloud-based software solutions, preferably with significant experience in Azure.
A minimum of 10+ years of current coding experience in Python, C#, React, SQL, and corresponding frameworks is required.
Candidates should have 10+ years of experience with APIs, microservices, front-end development, and modern software patterns.
A minimum of 5+ years in a team lead role with a proven track record of navigating ambiguity is necessary.
Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in early-stage startups and be comfortable with associated risks.
Proven ability to manage deliverables independently and meet project milestones is required.
Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards like HL7, FHIR, and DaVinci IGs is essential.
Familiarity with EHR integrations such as Epic, Cerner, and Allscripts is preferred.
Benefits:
The Seattle base salary range for this full-time position is $216k-$248k, determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay based on work location and other factors.
