Remote Principal Software Engineer, Architecture

Description:

• The Principal Engineer, Architecture will work with engineering teams and product management to execute on the vision of becoming the leading unified solution for video streaming.
• This role involves strengthening architecture, developing innovative proofs-of-concept and prototypes, and defining and implementing reliable solution architectures.
• The individual will establish and promote technology standards and lead the adoption of architecture best practices.
• The Principal Engineer will engage hands-on with engineers globally, rapidly innovating solutions and fostering strong bonds between Engineering and Product organizations.
• The purpose of this role is to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and operations of key products and services that comprise Brightcove's video platform.
• The successful candidate will help teams adopt and effectively utilize modern best practices for agile/evolutionary architecture, site reliability engineering, and DevOps.
• Responsibilities include serving as a technical lead on cross-functional projects, ensuring quality and reliability of system architectures, and mentoring individuals on advanced technical issues.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required; a Master's degree is a plus.
• The candidate must have 10+ years of experience as an architect and engineering leader in a B2B, SaaS environment.
• At least 5+ years of experience as an architect and technical leader in a B2B, SaaS environment is required.
• Extensive knowledge of agile and evolutionary architecture methodologies, continuous integration/delivery, automated end-to-end testing, SRE, and DevOps practices is necessary.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS solutions, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments is essential.
• The candidate should be results-driven with a commitment to reliability and quality.
• A passion for wowing and delighting customers and stakeholders is important.
• Expertise in cloud-based systems and products, along with a deep understanding of market trends and emerging technologies, is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, with the ability to influence, educate, and inspire others.
