Description:
Imprint is building a next-generation co-branded credit card company to serve America’s great brands, with partners including Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, and Holiday Inn.
The Lending Platform Engineering Team focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining an adaptable platform that supports various lending solutions while ensuring compliance with fintech regulations.
As the Principal Engineer, you will define and drive the technical vision and architecture for the lending platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
You will lead the design and development of scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performance systems for co-branded credit and non-card lending products.
Responsibilities include coding complex parts of the system, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring cohesive delivery of the platform.
You will architect end-to-end solutions for lending products, evaluate technologies, and ensure system design supports high availability and easy maintenance.
You will lead engineering teams through execution, oversee the development process, and foster continuous improvement.
Effective communication with stakeholders and mentoring engineering teams will be essential to promote innovation and collaboration.
You will encourage a culture of innovation, identify opportunities for enhancement, and stay updated on fintech industry trends.
Requirements:
You must have 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years leading the technical direction of an organization.
Experience in designing and building complex financial systems, particularly in the fintech domain, is required.
You should have experience in designing and implementing coherent architecture that interacts seamlessly across multiple APIs and system boundaries.
Extensive experience with cloud platforms and microservices architecture, preferably AWS, is necessary.
Deep experience with building transactional systems using relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres) or No-SQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB) is essential.
Production experience with modern engineering and cloud tools is required.
Strong proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Go, Java) and frameworks is necessary.
A deep understanding of data security, compliance (e.g., PCI-DSS), and privacy regulations is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a strong sense of ownership and urgency, are necessary.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required.
